Taste and See

There is a song we sometimes sing at my church called "Taste and See." A woman by the name of Trudy Poirier wrote it. The song reminds me very much of my life as a mom. This particular stanza functions as a little prayer for help and perspective in the weariness and insufficiency I often feel as I go about the endless tasks of motherhood, keeping my eyes fixed on the goal and trusting God for my children. I just wanted to share it with you.

Take all of my busy days,
Take all the longest nights.
Take my hopes and take my dreams
So that Your vision may be mine.
You have not chosen many wise,
You have not chosen many strong.
You take the weakest ones in this world
that You may show Your praise and glory.

Simple words that express so much truth. I love the gift of music.
