The day after we got home, Vince had to leave again for 7 DAYS. Call me weak, but watching my kiddos without his help while being 7 months pregnant left me exhausted!
I had a friend stay with me some of that time. She is a dear friend from college who is going through a difficult time. I was grateful for the opportunity to love on her a little bit. And, my silly kids brought some smiles and laughter to her. They excel in that area.
Being gone for 2.5 months left the most giant stack of mail EVER on our counter. I was finally done sorting through all of it yesterday!
When grandmothers haven't seen their grandkids all summer, they are very very eager to do so. Both Vince's mom and my mom have visited.
Our dear friends and co-workers The Peltons moved (temporarily) up to Albuquerque to have their special little baby boy. We are missing them and are also incredibly excited to meet their little one soon. We're also praying for them all!
A new semester is starting at the university, which brings with it all the notorious staff meetings and planning and things of that nature. And we've done a lot of praying. And connecting with students.
We decided to save money for everyone and have our start-of-the-year leader's "retreat" at our house. I LOVE that God's provided a house perfect for such things. And I love all the faithful, excited students we have to help us accomplish the vision of reaching our campus. The spaghetti and chocolate chip pancakes weren't bad, either. :)
My kids definitely love being home. They remembered all their toys and their rooms. I'm grateful and humbled, especially when I reflect on the fact that so, so many children don't own a single toy.
AND...
Grace is happy to have a cloth-covered bottom once again.
Here's some cuteness for your viewing pleasure:
